Rusty Ship

This rusty Russian ship is located in the Bedford Basin in Halifax harbour. I was told that last week they were shooting the movie "Jesse Stone: No Remorse" starring Tom Selleck by this ship.

so were you there to shoot the ship or Tom? btw- the rust vs blue sky captures an interesting mood.

      Thanks for your comments Istvan!

I've seen this ship for the past few months and wanted to take a picture of it. I didn't find out about the movie shoot until I spoke to the security guard to ask permission.

interesting looking ship. any idea how old it is?

    12. DGMiller777 (55 months ago | reply)

I don't know how old it is, but I was told it's a Russian ship that they are going to gut and use the hull to build a new ship. It's been docked there for months.

The lighting really brings out the rust colouring. Looks good.

Hey great shot. I have similar shots of this boat I actually boarded it with a buddy of mine and got some pretty amazing shots. It is a very interesting boat. I couldn't get a shot like this from the front due to the wharf rotting away. It's way too dangerous now. How did u find walking over that wharf to the front? Anyways check my pic out if you like, and leave some feedback. Thanks.

Last fall the wharf wasn't in that good of shape either. I had just been used that same week by the movie crew so it must have been safe enough for them. Thanks for your comments and I certainly will check out your shots.

Been trying to figure out how to get to that ship. I've been eyeing if for a while. I think you have to park and walk a bit to this? Nice shot.

      Thanks!

Yes. Park in the field across from the Burnside Ford dealership.
