Memories of my early days in old Singapore.........

My father (left) with a friend relaxing in front of our home in Jeddah Street in Kampong Glam district southeast of Little India near to Sultan Mosque and Arab Street.
Shortly after I took this remarkable photograph the big modernization hysteria and construction boom started in Singapore and also our house became a victim of destruction.
My father then moved to Saudi Arabia and started a construction business in favour of King Faisal and the Bush clan.
As in his early days my father had a rather hard life as a simple but dreaded pirate in the Malacca Straits this was quite an astonishing career and gives him a place in history.
