A W A M O C H I

Awamochi is a type of rice cake that was popular during the Edo Era and is still made today. This is a traditional dance in which awamochi vendors take turns pounding rice cakes as they perform various acts. Performed by gieko Kikuryuu of Miyagawa-cho.

The Difference a Year Makes

The Difference a Year Makes

Yesterday was my birthday. This photo was taken just after midnight on my birthday last year. And yes, that was my car :( 2011 was a tough year for the world, and this was but a sign of things to come. Fortunately, this year it was 60 degrees and sunny--hopefully that means 2012 is going to be the best year yet!
