My fellow co-leader, Anil, is a native of the land, and though he can be fierce to the students at times to ensure an order amongst the kids, he's affable and warms up to them quickly. A very nice balance, he's got there.

a picture project

a picture project

We gave out disposable cameras to the children for them to record the world they see around them. Some of my more intrepid team mates lent out their point-and-shoots.

And many of the pictures these kids capture are pretty amazing. These pictures went on exhibition in the National Library of Singapore for a month.

With the project near completion (a new coat of paint for the campus, new library, new classrooms), these students look even more proud and happy to be attending school.

As a leader for the 2nd expedition of Project Namaste, I didn't have the opportunity to take as many photos as I'd like to. And even then, I'd just like to rest then to go around shooting - Photography can be a tiring job with these boistrerous children around you all the time!
