Tawny Fish Owl (Ketupa flavipes) is one of the largest owls in India. This bird, as the name suggests, thrives on a diet of fish and hence it can be seen in wooded areas near streams, rivers and ponds. This specimen was photographed at the Dhikala Zone of the Corebett National Park, Uttarakhand.

Egyptian Vulture Juvenile

Neophron percnopterus commonly known as the Egyptian Vulture is also called the White Scavenger Vulture or Pharaoh's Chicken. This is a common species widely distributed from Europe to India. While the mature bird has a distinctive white mantle, the juvenile / sub adult are more brownish than white. Seen in Beel Akbarpur, Dadri, UP.

Bubulcus ibis or Cattle Egret is a very common bird all over the Indian Sub continent. They can be seen in and around ponds, grasslands, cultivation and often following cattle and tractors ploughing agricultural fields to catch the insets disturbed by them.
