Yellow-wattled Lapwing
Yello-watteld Lapwing (Vanellus malabaricus) frequent dry scrubs, wastelends and fallow fields in the countryside and even some developing colonies and vacant fields in suburbs. This specimen was captured in the flats behind Sultanpur National Park in today's outing with my 500mm lens.

Long-tailed Shrike
Long-tailed Shrike (Lanius schach) is probably the most common Shrike in India and is rather more confiding than other species of Shrikes. This fine specimen posed for me at Beel Akbarpur, Dadri Wetlands.
