These Ol' Boots
Bit of a story here. These boots had been with me 26 years. (Yes, they were far too big when I got them.) The laces came from an outfitter at The Grand Canyon.
They took me on my first solo hike at Lake Louise, hiked an alp in Austria, made it to the summit of Mount Kitahdin in Maine, wandered in the Catskills, and all over Appalachia.
Conservatively, I walked 2,000 miles in them.
They still had a bit of life, but sadly, as they no longer fit, I was faced to confront the painful reality that I hadn't worn them in five years.
Goodbye boots.
I'll miss you.
