Here's another one of my favorites from my trip to Oditel, Uganda.

The team I traveled with was chilling out in a school room waiting for the rain to stop so we could play some ultimate frisbee. There were some choice oppertunities to get candid shots of the children.

Smiling String-work

Smiling String-work

This is one of my favorites from my time in Uganda.

The girl in the center is named Lucy. She is seemingly shy at first but the more time I was around her the more I saw how she is growing up to be a strong-willed, sassy young woman. I pray that strength is never broken. Call me a feminist. The smiling girl on the right is Christine, our sponsored child. That reminds me that I need to write to her!

Looking up from the Equator

Looking up from the Equator

This is a star trail I made while in Uganda. I had wanted to do this again but then it started raining in the middle of most nights and well, I was very tired.

Little Richard and the sugarcane

Little Richard and the sugarcane

This little guy was best buds with one of the other men on the trip. I'm torn when I see little kids with self-confidence. Part of me wants to cheer them on that they stick up for themselves but then they can be a little bossy and I don't like bossy kids...

So anyway, lil' Richard is cool because he's small and proud but he doesn't take advantage of others... at least not that I saw. Oh the mysteries of children.

Church of St Nicholas' side door

Church of St Nicholas' side door

Yes this is the side door.

This cathedral is in Amsterdam where I spend about 4 hours walking around with another group member looking at the cool buildings and avoiding the more disreputable parts of the city (It was a Sunday morning, however, and very much dead).

I think foreboding church doors is partly why attendance is so down in European churches. What these doors need are some more welcoming colors :). Well that and to acknowledge their history of hypocrisy and seek to reconcile with groups they may have ostracized... jus' sayin'.
