Church of St Nicholas' side door

Church of St Nicholas' side door

Yes this is the side door.

This cathedral is in Amsterdam where I spend about 4 hours walking around with another group member looking at the cool buildings and avoiding the more disreputable parts of the city (It was a Sunday morning, however, and very much dead).

I think foreboding church doors is partly why attendance is so down in European churches. What these doors need are some more welcoming colors :). Well that and to acknowledge their history of hypocrisy and seek to reconcile with groups they may have ostracized... jus' sayin'.

Dinner and Children

Dinner and Children

Myself and two other group memebers were given this rooster (because that's what generous hosts do over there) while visiting with families we knew. Here, Lucy is holding the bird while we chat it up with our driver (off camera at left). The game he was playing can be seen below in the comments.

Three Children in a Wheelbarrow

Three Children in a Wheelbarrow

The lighting in this is amazing. I'll start with that.

This was taken from the bus I was in as we crept along a detour during some serious traffic in the city of Kampala.

Spend some time exploring the posted notices in this image, they're hilarious.

Saroti Door

Saroti Door

A particular door of character in Soroti, Uganda. It's a view from the inside because this is where we stayed while journeying between Oditel and Kampala. More images await an upload from this bustling city.

Keep checking back!

Also, just so you don't miss it, I put up a blogpost with more shots of that baby from yesterday.

Heidi and I had the blessed opportunity to visit some of our friends who transformed into new parents on Valentine's Day at 4:30am. Their son is about 15 hours old in these photos and I held him. Here's a blogpost I put together with more images.

I want babies.

Babies everywhere.
