I have had a bowl of green tea in Tokyo, Japan, but it was not a ceremony (I once attended a Yobanashi tea ceremony in London, UK)

I sure hope it tasted better than it looks. Brrr.

Green tea is a suspension. Most tea that are drunk are infusions. So it is like drinking a "smoothie"!

"Ah, you must appreciate the essence of the green tea before drinking", I was told at tea ceremonies. You have captured the essence quite well. A new fave.

You must also capture the mood, the season...

thank you very much everyone for your comments.

it is funny to read a comment when someone doesn't like green tea flavours! it is true though, you either really like it or you don't! it certainly makes for interesting posting anyway!

compared to 'normal' green tea, this drink here is very creamy, as LoopZilla said, like a smoothie. i have to admit i was very impatient when i was taking this photo as i just wanted to start drinking it. they made it at a tea ceremony in front of me, and had just whisked it (thus the lovely photogenic bubbles!).

Beautiful shot. Did it come with a sweet?

  29. michenv (70 months ago | reply)

davidteter, it did come with a sweet, but i don't think i took a photo of that. i was probably eating it whilst taking the photo of the tea. i'll have a look back through my photos for a sweet!
