the only thing good about the rain is this situation
Now I could be wrong about this, but most of the positively most captivating street shots I've seen involve women standing on corners with umbrellas in the rain. Of course, these mostly take place in New York City but since I live in Chicago my attempt at one of these signature works will have to do.
Also, the fact that most of these are taken by better photographers doesn't hurt.
The replacement on December 23 was to clean up the contrast a bit. Hopefully the photo didn't lose some of its dark feel.
There is a color photo from this same situation (I shot four exposures) at the only thing good about the rain is this colorful situation.

new york or not, I like this a lot. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to tweak the levels and curves to make the contrast pop a little more, but the shot in and of it self is wonderful and inviting.
