On our way down to Chilton County we were lured to the Sybil Temple at the crest of Shades Mountain in Vestavia Hills by these girls in hoop dresses. They are "Vestavia Belles" and represent the city as hostesses at festivals and other events. In honor of the Vestavia Dogwood Festival, these young ladies and their chaperones gave us some free cookies and lemonade, and then posed for photographs on a windy day, well after the dogwoods had dropped their blooms.
