I couldn't believe all the amount of fresh fruit. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but it was great! I bought peaches, strawberries, nectarines, tomatoes and more.

It isn't going to be hard to get used to this.

The farmer's market includes fresh fish, right off the boat!

There was also a seal swimming around here, but I wasn't quick enough to get a picture.

Ventura, as seen from the Ventura harbor beach. Beyond the hills you can see the the smoke from the Zaca fire. According to the official website, this fire has been burning since July 4, and is not expected to be contained until September. Apparently this is one of the biggest fires in California history.

When we got here, the air was quite hazy and the sun had an orange tint. I noticed that cars were covered in ash. The past couple of days have been clear, and I have taken these photos.

These birds run out into the surf, then run back when a wave comes in.

This is almost right across the street from the farmer's market.

So far, this is my favorite beach.
