Uneven Waters

Uneven Waters

Port Elliot
South Australia

This shot was taken yesterday morning on a cloudless sky. I remember the morning more for falling into the water shortly afterward (camera OK at least) rather than the photographs returned. I was standing here waiting for a window when the water dipped to the right of the image so if the water looks uneven, it was! There was a nice layer of mist over the water to subdue the sunlight too

And Time Flew Past

And Time Flew Past

Cape Du Couedic
Kangaroo Island

This lighthouse in the far southwest corner of Kangaroo Island in Flinders Chase National Park is exposed to all of the elements. On our first evening on KI, the sun was sending down some gorgeous rays but only as we were driving wishing that we could drive safely faster ( too much wildlife on the road) . Sadly, by the time we arrived and unpacked our gear, much of the light was fading but I think I just caught the tail end of it in long exposure.

Dawn Contrasts

Dawn Contrasts

Remarkable Rocks
Kangaroo Island

Pre dawn, while waiting for light, I shot a few longer exposures of the rushing clouds.
As you can see , the red lichen is a a striking feature of these rocks!

Good Morning KI

Good Morning KI

Remarkable Rocks
South Australia

A fun shot with Keith & Amy at the remarkable rocks after dawn had been and gone. Had the place all to ourselves and Keith, waiting for your picture of the jump! (That's me on the left)

Steps in the Dune

Steps in the Dune

Little Sahara
Kangaroo Island

The diversity of Kangaroo Island's landscapes is quite incredible. Out of the blue, an area of pure sand dunes leaps up from the scrub. I'm looking forward to a return trip when I can visit here at dawn or dusk when there is noone (or their footsteps) around and when the light is more favourable. Charlie stayed in the car for this one - too much painful sand blowing around!
