I loved driving here... absolutely beautiful scenery. And I'm kinda embarrassed to admit that I'm into country music. It grows on you when you have a long drive... So excited for my route trip on Route 66!!!!! Michigan here I come!

Intense hike in the Great Smokey Mtn National Park... totally worth the view! Parts of it was still frozen over and covered with snow. Unfortunately, we underestimated this trail and ended up hiking back in the dark and rain. Luckily, Stan and Ashley both had headlamps (of course in my morning hike I bring my headlamp and never used it, but forget it on my afternoon hike and need it!), guns, knives, tents, sleeping bags, food....etc (this is what happens when you travel with a boyscout and other med students) and we were able to get out of there safely without any injuries! Lesson learned- never go anywhere without my headlamp.

Here, I was introduced to the SPAMALOT song "Always look on the bright side of life."

So much fun! This was my day to hang out with the air transport crew. This team consists of a pilot, paramedic, and nurse- THEY ARE SO AWESOME! They do a lot of air rescues and transport. I got to see how the team operates and play with all their cool equipment- coolest gadget ever: night vision googles!

Loved hanging out and talking to the crew, hands down, coolest job ever! Hopefully, I'll be able to come back and visit!

Look how well kept this car is. That was pretty much the state of the entire station- spotless. I felt so bad because I had gone hiking earlier that morning, muddied up my boots, then tracked it ALL OVER THE STATION AND HELICOPTER. At first I was like, where did all this dirt come from, then I realized the floor was only dirty on MY side of the helicopter and where I walked... so embarrassing, especially since they obviously put a lot of work into keeping everything clean!

Woke up about 5 times that night because I was so cold! Woke up to 1inch of snow!!! Yeah, this Californian survived... but I believe when I'm in Michigan, the heater will be my best friend
