Les Escaliers de Montmartre

During my August 2010 trip to Paris, I wanted to recreate the classic image by Brassaï, a print of which hangs in my dining room. Unfortunately, stickers on the lamp post mar an otherwise beautiful scene.

Brassaï's 1936 original was, I believe, shot in the moments before sunrise, and the morning fog adds beauty to the scene. I, on the other hand, was too lazy to go before dawn, so I did my best to get this shot in the late afternoon, waiting patiently for "les escaliers" to clear of people.
