Mostly I was evaluating them for monitoring accuracy. While I like the HD280s overall (lower left) and would choose those myself, if you like a bit of warmer sound, the other Sennheisers (the PX100s, which are white) are great for the money. If you want isolation, the Shure E3Cs are really nice (lower right), or the cheaper E2Cs are also quite good, and about half the price.
