The Bamboo Forest and some great Twitter Lists to follow
Today's daily photo was taken while exploring the wilds outside of Kyoto a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful place! The walk took me into this giant bamboo forest. After strolling through it for a short eternity, I set up for a shot. This is a standard 5-exposure HDR; it was shot with a 14-24mm lens. For those of you new to the site, you can find out more about my process in the HDR Tutorial.

hey trey. been noticing your symmetry work. Good stuff. Green ALWAYS looks good in photos for some reason. I like the lines that the trees produce and goly, those areas of lights that are shinning through is amzing too!

Very nice, great colors, like that one tree crossing the line towards the end, kinda stuck out for me.

You visit some interesting places and have a great eye for a photograph. I keep on looking at your photos; but to me they often look overprocessed and unnatural. Just a matter of personal taste, I suppose. Unnatural-looking photos are fine sometimes, I've done some myself; but your photos were good to start with, and I don't think they really need this sort of treatment as a matter of routine. I realize this comment will look rather odd in the general chorus of uncritical praise...

Beautiful colors, light, lines, symmetry, DoF! It does seem to take on a grand cinematic look, as if it's somewhere along the yellow brick road on the way to the Emerald Palace.
