Loyalty

Loyalty

History is constantly rewritten.
Are the heroes of the past still these of today?
This picture for the "Eroica MMXII" exposition symbolises loyalty. Is loyalty still an act of heroism or one of stupidity? Discover more in the Royal Army Museum in Brussels (Cinquantenaire) from April 22nd on.
Hope to see you there!

Sic transit gloria mundi

Sic transit gloria mundi

When Moammar Gaddafi was killed after half a year of protests and war, somehow the idea came to me that fate is very impredictable. Of course Gaddafi was a villain, but for years and years the West treated him as a nice villain, and with a bit of luck he could have died like that, of old age, amongst good friends like Silvio and Nicolas.
So what determines if you end as a hero or a villain?
This picture in no way wants to commemorate Gaddafi, but the unpredictable fate of heroes, leaders and freedom fighters of all kinds, whether their name is Jezus Christ, Spartacus or Garibaldi or Ernesto Guevara ...
Some people fight with them and support their goals, others just watch from a distance indifferently, still others symphatize or oppose without really knowing what it's all about. And nobody knows if you'll be remembered as a saviour or a fool in the end...

Actors: Waleed, Andy, Alain, Adriaan, An Sophie, Sofie
Body painting: Dirk De Jaegher
Art director: Patrick Keulemans
Thank you Dirk Hesse for the help with the props.
And a big thank you to Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio.
