Is that a good 'uh...' or a bad 'uh...'?

if you're going to the touble of creating a scene, think aobut the background too. Shadows can be wonderful, or they can ruin a shot.

    3. earthdog (78 months ago | reply)

I am not sure that is a scene from that book :)

it's a funny compo, I'm not sure about the title and I don't like the colours.
      though I find it interesting.

"uh..." = "it's very creative, and i can't come up with anything wittier at the moment"

      I think it's a very intelligently designed photograph ;p

It there a Charles Darwin Lego? If so what set does he come in?

    16. Kaptain Kobold (78 months ago | reply)

Errm, no, there's no Darwin Lego that I'm aware of; I just made him from various bits in my son's Lego box.

Definitely interesting, though I think the standard green tile would look better than the red.

Well, Darwin didn't have a beard in 1859...

    24. Gee-Kay (73 months ago | reply)

Thanks, Duncan Harris - i KNEW that this wasn't historically accurate, but just couldn't figure out what it was!!!!

Mr. Kaptain Kobold - just WHAT are you trying to pull on us?

    25. Kaptain Kobold (73 months ago | reply)

Curses! I have stooped almost to the level of the creationist/ID crowd in my perfidy and deception :-)

Consider the beard to be iconic rather than real :-)

    26. Gee-Kay (73 months ago | reply)

you mean that the real Darwin's beard wasn't detachable and plastic?

I'm learning so much stuff today that my brain is starting to hurt!

    27. earthdog (73 months ago | reply)

      Where are the finches?

    28. AlPacaEsq (71 months ago | reply)

First a beard and then the title! surely should be "Charles Darwin:On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life : 1859" Are you trying to pervert the anti-sacred? :-)

I'm in danger of Richard Dawkins coming round to my house and breaking my windows ...

Were did you get that lego?

    32. Kaptain Kobold (40 months ago | reply)

It's bits from various sets. The monkey came from a Pirate set, and the beard from one of the Castle ones, for example. That's the thing with Lego; the sets are interchangeable. A bit like horizontal gene transfer :-)
