I just got in a big project with a tight deadline, so my Flickr time is even going to be less than usual, which hasn't been a whole lot recently. Sigh. I’ll try to catch up with you later. If I can't, know how much I appreciate your visits and that I usually try to skim my Contacts pages to see what you're up to, even if I can't drop by.
I'm still having focusing issues with my 450D but realize (I think) that it's me and not the camera. This is one of the better of the 500 shots I've taken so far, usually with pitiful results.

it IS a good one !!! keep shooting... I'd be happy with this pic ...I have trouble focussing things at middle close-up range...and it's likely me....it seems to take an awful lot of time and patience...and I often give up...and take a different shot.....

its iris time here, too. Your use of f/8 on this shot gives a great balance between seeing the subject clearly and creating a complimentary soft-focus background.
