When I bought these as a child they were
called "Flying Saucers". They were
made of rice paper filled with sherbert. I
like how they have left coloured shadows.
Yes! Flying saucers! (I was going to say
'sherbert spaceships', which is almost there,
but LeoL30 reminded me of the real name).
They were great - fizzy on the tongue, fluffy
rice paper on the roof of the mouth. And you
could buy them singly. I have been noticing a
serious demise in the penny sweets - you can
still get them, but mostly only in packets.

of sisters from frisco they offered us
candies attached to paper and were smaller
than smarties but were a delightful taste -
wonders if anyone knows them :)
