Crossing Paths

The dog park by the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport. Unseen on the other side of the hill is the fence separating the park from the runway.

great shot. love watching planes there, but our dog isn't allowed to fraternize, sadly.

Great Shot! Where is this park? Does it require a permit?

    6. DevonTT (73 months ago | reply)

Take the 62 Crosstown to the 28th Street exit, then turn toward the airport and go to the end of the street. The dog park is actually the property of the Metropolitan Airport Commission.

Rumor has it that they offered it up as a dog park as a way of reducing crime. No permit necessary, but there are no services to speak of. Bring your own poop bags and water.

And don't let your dog get too close to 62. It's not fenced in everywhere.

Excellent timing on this shot. I think I had a slight palpitation when I first looked at this, and then had to laugh at myself. A quirky, interesting, and slightly funny shot. Well done. Score 10/10 (from the Score Me! group)

obviously it is the perspective that is spectacular here. is earth overtaken by giant dog? have fuel prices required a re-scaling of aircraft? also wonderful motion and balance. (I'd be tempted to saturate the colors a bit more, but I'm a color junkie...) this is wonderful. congrats.

Love the shot! Just a cool moment, almost looks fake. It even looks like the dog is ducking down to dodge the plane. This was voted a HIT from Hit, Miss or Maybe

You have to geotag this - I want to know exactly where that park is...

    29. DevonTT (67 months ago | reply)

OK, I added the geotag, Sparky. The pink dot on the map is pretty much exactly where I was standing when I shot the photo. :)

Thanks - that must be a great spot for aviation photography. Makes me want to take a trip to MSP...

Hi, Sugar. I have a few more shots at the link below, but they're from a few years ago--before the Delta merger. I'll have to shoot some more and get some Delta planes in my shots now! Thanks for the kind words. If anyone is interested in my photos, you can have them contact me here on Flickr or at DevonTT@gmail.com.
