tutu for you?

Imagine dancing in this thing...

Opening night at Romeo and Juliet by the Royal NZ Ballet last week - this was made by the Friends of the RNZB from the used pointe shoes of the company.

I remember at last year's Swan lake there were these cute little girls in the audience who were all dressed up in their pink tutus. (Swan Lake - you can't get much more ballet than that!)

For the past few months I've been taking lessons at PASNZ. I like it better than the casual classes I'd been taking occasionally - a bit more continuity. Hopefully learning the basics will help with learning contemporary - I went along to a "beginners" class, where all the others turned out to be dancers who were only beginners in contemporary. Hmm, was a bit out of my depth!
