Perseverance

Perseverance

As i'd said.. I research before i shoot. And for awhile i wonder why i haven't seen any sunrise shot on El Nido, that's because the island is facing west. And suddenly expand my boundaries, its a challenge for me. I think the only way to get a sunrise shot. . . is to shoot on the opposite side.

That's when i found this island. . . It's called HELICOPTER island. Coz' of the shape.

I was able to ask the bankeros to get me in this island by 5am in the morning. Then they said: YES, but we have to leave El Nido by 4am. And by dawn 3:45am, i was on the shores of El Nido waiting for my ride alone. The wind was freezing cold. I was very confident that i have a right light because it was raining the night before.

And there i was able to watch how amazing those limestone formation on various islands. Palawan Island is indeed beautiful. For some, it is referred to as "The Final Frontier". Once you've been here you realize why. Enchanting El Nido is truly breathtaking; many lives changed by this magical place.

Through the Rapids and Mists

Through the Rapids and Mists

It was raining hard in Marilog that we almost didnt push through.
The fog was so thick that It was almost zero visibility. But that didnt stop us from doing what we wanted to do to capture the beauty of nature. This is what we call EXTREME PASSION.

This is one of my favorite places to shoot. Epol Waterfalls in Baganihan Marilog District, a seventy (70) kilometers from the city itself. Although it is well developed now compare to my previous visit, the place has an aura of mystery that keeps me coming back and shoot there again and again. Moreover every time Im in that place, it has that IT or WOW factor that makes me admire the area. Something that most landscape photographers say,

"Its a different feeling when youre out there looking the beauty in front of you compare to what you see in photos."

The Willow

The Willow

The sun is now high, I'm moving to the mangroves to shoot infrared. I drove and park to nearby coast.
Started walking coastal, shooting every gigantic mangrove that stands in my way, without noticing that the tide is getting high. I cannot go back to where i came from. I even go under the mangrove forest just to reach the other side of the coast. IT WAS SCARY.

Until I saw this uniquely form mangrove. I started composing my shot.

Remember that animated movie, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa?
I can somehow relate to this photo. The background being the great meadows of Africa.

My thought of Light

My thought of Light

Ever since my busy schedule, i have been visualizing to capture those stunning sunrise. And ever afternoon just by looking at the window in my office, i can't help but to admire the illusive sunset. Wishing that someday i can capture those moments again.

With little time and moment. I manage to shoot.
Fulfilling indeed, it was very fulfilling. Till my next shoot.

Bloom in Gloom

Bloom in Gloom

I want to share this simple shot. On that day when i was shooting this, it's really overcast. No sun, It almost rain. Almost all of my shots are no good, the effect of the sea was terrible. I was roaming around Sta. Cruz just to find something interesting. Just when i'm about to call it a day, i found this. This photo made my day.

Hope you guys like it.
