I like this pic. Mood is supported by colors, DOF, exposure - perfect. Good work.

Three girls shaking their rumps in front a place named Valencia (my wife's name.) I should encourage my wife to do the same now. Did you happen across this scene or was it a planned shoot? Either way, this is some fantastic work!
Mark Griffith (81 months ago | reply)
There's a whole lot of beyonce in this shot. ;)

I love the confidence these young girls seem to have in themselves. Great capture. I found a group yesterday that this would be perfect for The Essence of She

Hey you guys! Thanks a lot for all your great comments.
Chicago, no this wasn't planned. I was driving by and happened to notice them so I got out, got as close as I could and snapped a few. Though I have other lenses, I shoot alot with the 50mm becuz it really challenges me to get close to my subjects. I have to get close (with the 50mm) in order to get somewhat of a good picture.
Stacey this was a few days ago but I wanted it to look like it was a tad older. You can always see the date I take my shots in the additional info section. It's a dead giveaway.
Thanks Nat, Hilary, Devar mjutabor and hermosdef!

so much movement in this one-- I really like it!
_lesa_ [deleted] (81 months ago | reply)
to be young and to be that free again! they are three extrodinarily beautiful brown young women. to have that moment of youth forever captured is awesome. i love the freedom of their movements 'cause nobody's stopping those girls from doing their thing.

The Canon 50mm is one of my favourites as well. The blue tones in the picture are wonderful, as well as the DOF. A stunning shot!

Great shot ! I'm so tired of seing macros and landscapes on Flickr (including mines !), there's so much life in this shot !
Shavar Ross (81 months ago | reply)
Wow guys, thanks for your comments. It seems the ones you least expected gets the most views. Hmmm...I wonder if its the tags.

Wonderful image! Full of life. The suggested vignette helps rock the shot too.

@Shavar: nope, I haven't even read the tags (I understand now)! I found it browsing your sets, coming from someone else's favorites which was yours...

I love this shot because it's so L.A. - you know, the colors look very different than they do in Michigan. Everything POPS!! And it's cute, too. ;)

LOL...really? I need to find some more hoochie mamas then!
jon madison (80 months ago | reply)
ha
just everything about this works so well!
the fact that there are 3
the colour, against the sign
and the "no stopping"
the fact that they're hoochie mamas seemingly in the middle of nowhere just make this all the more great lol
Shavar Ross (80 months ago | reply)
thanks man, appreciate that! it's one of my least favorite photos so go figure!

This is an awsome pic. It has everything to do with being ready for the moment and knowing "how" to capture the moment. But also knowing how to recognize the moment when there "is" a moment.
