      very exciting painting experience.
      sometimes I look at a piece and imagine doing it from the way the marks look,
      this one really is satisfying.
      not easy

      I love the chunky strokes round the nose and the hat going off the edge of the frame. somehting iconic about this portrait

      Agree with all, those marks are what jump out first--you can feel it! And then the feeling of an icon--rich and solid--I just love it.
