Late afternoon, late fall. Hazy light piercing a gnarled oak tree. The scent of bar-b-que and the drift and riff of a guitar, someplace. This lowered, pinstriped '53 deVille was hunkered at the curb on South Congress across from the Continental Club. A weird orange glow from the grey paint. Very cool, very Austin. I've arrived.

Just before this trip began, I picked up a Holga camera for the first time. I'd been warned about the various idiosyncrasies, good and bad, so I knew what to expect and, perhaps, to not expect. The surprise was this image - the film didn't advance for three frames, resulting in this time-warpy, road-induced fever dream.
