Inveriably every time I look at this kind of tree the bark looks like human skin. It's beautifully smooth and yet creepy all at the same time...

spinning secrets
This plant was photographed in the Montezuma's Castle grounds and is a relative of the agave with thinner, smaller leaves that have marginal filaments that curl. The curls fascinated me. = ]
