Great motivator. What I don't understand
though, is why they invited him to this
dinner. They could have been been well aware
that it was not going to be an arse-licker
speech.
I think it is very subliminal, it is to
suggest as if there is freedom of speech,
giving the Bush-haters a comfy feeling that
he was snubbed, closing their eyes for the
fact that where it matters, on the political
level, nothing really changes. Ofcourse that
doesn't mean that Colbert's speech wasn't
great, it was very subtle..I enjoyed it.
Ya know, that probably is the reason they
booked him. At the time I was incredulous,
thinking that no one connected with the
administration knew who Stephen Colbert
was/knew of his comedy, etc. But you're
probably right. They probably did use it as
a ploy.
I didn't get to see all of it, but what I did
see was brilliant. Almost everyone he was
calling out was obviously upset and
uncomfortable except Justice Scalia (which
surprised me). He was actually laughing his
ass off, even when Colbert roasted him.
Gotta give him credit for that...

George Bush is unamused...
Why does Stephen Colbert hate freedom?
Seriously, though, great poster ;)
