I don't enjoy thunder and lightning very
much..we are quite exposed on a ridge
here..twice since we have been here (three
years) lightning has struck close enough to
blow out our computer and telephones...I
switch everything off and unplug everything
now...
Well, the battery back-up is just a battery
pack that kicks in if there is a power
outage---shuts your computer down in an
orderly fashion, assures there is no loss of
files or damage to the system. You put
everything, computer, scanner, copier, etc.,
on that back-up, and you can sleep
comfortably without worrying about a
lightening strike.
Thanks Mr WS..its not the power outage that
is the problem..it is the power surge when
lightning hits close...it fries the circuits
and blows everything out..particularly the
wireless connection..

It looks like it's spinning and trying to form itself into a shape.........perhaps something ghostly and sinister...... A great picture, too.

Don't you have a battery back-up?
ART NAHPRO (36 months ago | reply)
No..my PC is very old. I am too broke to replace it at the moment but probably will have to eventually..and will get a lap top then.

Well, the battery back-up is designed to protect against power surges, but I don't know about wireless connections.

I'll have to investigate further. There is a a big handle at the back that says "In an Emergency -Crank" hahaha
