Speakers Corner 1968

I went to Britain with my dad for a few weeks from Kenya ...I think it was 1968

Mini skirts were all the rage. I was 14 or 15.

Maybe it was reaction to the quality of the debate or a subtle signal that their shift was coming to an end

Notice the ONLY means of communication: whistle (chain just visible), Only means of protection : CORK helmet and truncheon. Not even a clip-on tie.

I was 14 or 15 then too. t was a different world then ,wasnt it

Thanks for adding it to the Police History group

Also it was a really hot day and they seem to be in their normal uniforms not shirt sleeves. No wonder he's pulling a face. Was probably hot as anything and dehydrating
