Sweet pea coffee

Sweet pea coffee

It's that time of year again. If I want early and hardy sweet peas, I need to plant now. But first... a coffee.

The slopes to myself

The slopes to myself

The sun is not too high, not too low. The snow is powdery with just that bit of crispness. And there's no-one there, just me, the slopes, the swishing of the skis and my thoughts.

Of course this isn't me - but I wish I had been this lone skier making my way off piste down to Orelle from the top of La Masse, Les Menuires. Next time, eh?

Arc en ciel

Arc en ciel

Sometimes the ski slopes are shades of blue and white as far as you can see. But only sometimes. Today there were all the colours of the rainbow to delight weary but happy skiers returning to wherever they came from in the Trois Vallees, France.

Yorkshire Soul and the House of Knowledge

Yorkshire Soul and the House of Knowledge

This is most definitely the best exhibition I have ever seen. Spanish artist Jaume Plensa at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
