For those who like trains, Japan is a must. You can travel along the whole country inside the comfortable and fast Shinkansen bullet trains. For the foreigners, there is a special ticket called Japan Railpass that must be bought abroad (and NOT in Japan). The cost is fantastic. For 200 euros, one can travel on nearly any train during one week. I used it over one weekend and went from Tokyo to Nikko on saturday and to Kyoto on sunday. Very little time for such a wonderful country, but still better than staying at home, don't you agree?
Los trenes bala son un medio de transporte fantástico. Desde la estación de Tokio sale un tren bala hacia Kioto cada 6 minutos. El recorrido son unos 550 kms y la duración del viaje, algo menos de dos horas y media. El precio es de 200 euros, un 15% superior al coste del AVE Madrid Barcelona, pero teniendo en cuenta que los salarios en Japón son muy superiores a los de España, ya os podéis hacer una idea de quiénes pagamos más por menos servicio. Tenemos mucho que aprender del transporte japonés.
