Windmills in fog

went up 9 mile canyon road tonight to shoot windmills but most of them were enveloped in so much fog that we couldn't even see them from 100 feet away. Just as we were giving up, we found a pair that were sort of poking through the cold, freezing fog.

nice! it looks like windmills high up in the clouds.

that's pretty much what it was -- we had to drive through the cloud layer to get there, and the fog on the way back down was probably the worst I've ever driven in. Had to crawl along the dirt roads at 5 mph to avoid driving off into the wheat fields!

i have to admit, I've been a bit surprised by the comments on it -- it's far from my favorite windmill shot that I've taken! But I'm glad people like it, of course!
