Happy Thanksgiving! I made this spiced apple-cranberry pie with a recipe from Williams-Sonoma. It turned out great! Especially with ice cream. :) I made little leaf cutouts for the edges. It was fun!

Having a few friends over for a post-Thanksgiving lunch.

I took this photo the day I brought home my latest Mac, a macbook pro I bought for working while traveling. It was August 28, 4 days after Steve Jobs' resignation. I was terribly sad, but no one at the crowded Apple store was talking about it. I realized that I was 10 years older than most of them.

I grew up the daughter of a computer engineer and my father and I marveled at all of Apple's innovation. My first Mac was an Apple Classic II, in the 90s. This is the end of an era and for me, another piece of my childhood gone as well. And I'll admit that underneath my grief for Steve and his family is a fervent wish that my father could have lived to see all this technological innovation.

Steve had an incredible life and did much for us all, and this is a very, very sad loss.
