Kitchen breakfast room re-imagined, February 2007
We gave the walls a Farrow & Ball treatment (dauphin) and calmed the cabinets with a softer grey. I'm a big thrift store shopper; the breakfast table was a find and the chairs (reuphostered) were from a garage sale. My final intention is to ebonize the furniture; giving them a deep, rich, aged black finish. The original windows were removed by the previous owner, installing the casement. 'Though I'm not a fan, we tried to make sense of them by painting the wood (that seemed to come out of nowhere) the same as the trim in the room.
