Bronze Fennel

If you use any of our photos, in any way, you must give credit to "Homestead and Gardens" by using a link that directs to www.homesteadandgardens.com.

Bronze Fennel 'Purpureum' (a variety of Foeniculum vulgare) is considered an ornamental fennel and not an edible one (although it CAN be eaten... as I have experienced for myself... both the seeds and foliage have great flavor). It is very attractive to Swallowtail Caterpillars (I found several on the bronze fennel this summer) as well as other pollinators, including bees.
