The coolness of the highlands of Mambucal contrasts sharply against the scalding heat of the volcanic hot spring. This pool is pretty much too hot for a dip so people just go here to get a sulfur steam bath. An outdoor sauna in the middle of the woods isn't bad at all. Good for photo op too.

This picture is so charming. I see a young woman sitting at the edge of the hot springs, hair loose and feet dangling like a little kid. A grown up captured in a moment of innocence. The hair covering the face adds a sense of mystery. Very nice shot, Farl!!

wow... the steam/fog!! the only time i've been to a 'volcanic hot spring' was many years ago... i think somewhere in or near bandung, indonesia? kinda too young to remember the location, but quite an experience for me... beautiful, mystical shot ;))

hey Farl ... this is a very nicely composed image, and the mist off that razor hot water adding a magical touch. :-) reminds me in a way of the hotsprings in Banff, Canada ... althought this setting looks more natural by far (no concrete pools. :-)
