It's like seeing a gift covered with polka dot wrap paper, pinned with a label shaped like a heart and tied with a ribbon of narrow lace.
The moment I saw the pocks from the above, I had trouble guessing what they were. When the plane finally landed, I got a close enough view to see that they were burnt clearings. Indeed, in large view, some wisps of smoke are visible. It is summer in Indonesia so maybe farmlands are being cleared for the next agricultural cycle.
