A Work in Progress

A Work in Progress

Olympus XA2 with D. Zuiko f3.5 on Ultramax 400.
This was changed from the very distinctive and beautiful mottled blue to a very austere shade of olive green. It's too bad, as I always got a charge out of this building which housed the Cindy Club, among others.

Spotty Trial II

Spotty Trial II

From the first roll through my Pentax Spotmatic SPII without using my meter(no battery yet) with SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8 on Ultramax 400.
This was shot using a polarizer. I shot this at f5.6 and 1/250 on the 400 film rated at 400. I did no post on this at all other than a crop. It's as it came out of the camera.

Spotty Trial I

Spotty Trial I

From the first roll through my Pentax Spotmatic SPII without using my meter(no battery yet) with SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8 on Ultramax 400. This one I did minor light level changes in post, that's all.
Very pleased with the results from this camera: every single shot came out within one stop of perfect exposure using the sunny 16 rule.
I cannot recall what I set the camera at for this one but I think it was something like f5.6 @ 1/60. Basically, I just flew by the seat of my pants with the whole roll, but it worked. I'm starting to wonder if batteries are a waste of money. But, for complex lighting situations, the meter is a very welcome friend.

My New Spotty

My New Spotty

Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic SPII with screw mounted SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8. It came with the original full case in leather. With the exception of the meter, this camera is fully mechanical and needs no battery. This says "Honeywell" instead of "Asahi" because that was how all American market cameras were branded. It was manufactured in Japan between 1971 and 1976.
