Essaouira (Arabic: الصويرة‎, as-Ṣawīra; Berber Tassort) is a city in the western Moroccan economic region of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, on the Atlantic coast. Since the 16th century, the city has also been known by its Portuguese name of Mogador or Mogadore. Morocco. Essaouira.

I think he's playing a Rebab, a one-string Berber fiddle, but I'm not sure.

I never saw that many stray cats in my life. They all roamed around the fishing harbour, I wonder why ;-)
Well, those we saw certainly all seemed well fed. We didn't notice sick or injured animals.

I guess HSAM must have done a great job.
HSAM was formed in 2006 after Claire Sedgwick and Rob White returned from a holiday in Essaouira, Morocco. They found that many of the street cats and dogs living there were weak, underweight, dehydrated and in very poor health. They couldn't turn their backs; urgent veterinary treatment was needed.
