The Smurfs .

First Created in the 1950's by Peyo from belgium and introduced as a series of comic strips .
The Smurfs animated cartoon series started in Los Angeles in 1982 where Hanna-Barbera Studios together with Peyo produced over 150 episodes of Smurf cartoons. This brought the smurf characters into the homes and hearts of children everywhere.
these little blue characters have popped up in various places in the world over the years, some commercial companies used them in their advertising in the late 1970's and up to now.
