A special train was run on that evening from Great Yarmouth to Lingwood and return to celebrate the centenary of the Great Yarmouth to Brundall (via Acle and Lingwood) line. This line is now part of the Wherry Lines. On arrival at Lingwood, B-B-Q and social event was held at the Village Hall.

The train consisted of the former SLOA (Metro-Cammell) Pullman set and was hauled by a rather grubby Class 31. We had hoped for steam haulage but were sadly disappointed.......

Here the train is seen at Great Yarmouth station a couple of hours before departure.

The train is seen here after arriving at Acle en-route to Lingwood. There was a chance to alight here and take some photos while the offical speeches were being made.

Wherry Lines Class156 passing Whitlingham Junction on its way fron Norwich to Great Yarmouth or Lowestoft.

Does anyone know why the green stripe has appeared across the picture? It wasn't there on the original or when I loaded it up.
