   I wondered if someone might not like it. I was careful not to seem like I was trying to photograph someone's ballot. No one said anything or even gave me looks like I sometimes get at the supermarket.

   I guess it's a free country.

   Nice to know our polls are less guarded than the grocery store!! Sheesh. I showed your photo to a co-worker. She said, "ask him why he cleverly failed to show how he voted on the death penalty??" ;-)

    It passed. I don't know what to say. I liked this picture better yesterday when it was hopeful. Looking at it today is too frustrating.

    I agree - it's keeping me from overabundant euphoria today, but don't remove it!! Let it stand as a reminder that you had the advanced wisdom and heart to vote NO. And you can take solice in (most of) the rest of the results locally and nationwide!!

    it is so great to learn that not all americans are bigots ... and closed minded. It is so great to see that not all Americans leave their country to be able to fight against some silly Bush-tenets .... I feel less anti-american today. Can I use this picture for my blog? Thanks for sharing it. It is something more than a simple photo. Excellent and FAV.

    I worked for the campaign to defeat this amendment and along the way met some people who really are bigots, people who said stupid and nasty things. But most of the people I met are not hateful. They might have voted "yes" and they might believe that homosexuality is wrong, but I really think that if they knew gays and lesbians personally, if they had more everyday interactions with people different from them, they would be more likely to recognize the injustice of this amendment. I believe that in the long run, the "yes" side will lose and that it's only a matter of time before the idea of equality for gays and lesbians will be just as mainstream as the idea of equality for women and ethnic and racial minorities.

    A true old man would not be up at 4 a.m., Angelo! ;-) How great (and small) this world is becoming, when a photo of a ballot in Wisconsin appears on a blog in Italia! Still sad about the amendment passing, but all giggly about the House, Senate, Rumsfeld, etc... !
