--------------------------- Technical: 8 The slight overexposure works
well to give this shot a dreamy mystical
feel, as does the very slightly soft
exposure. Some blown high-lights, but perhaps
unavoidable. Choice of dof works for this
pic. Composition: 7 The grassy path leads the eye
into the pic and the misty trees in the
background are very inviting. Perhaps if the
path started off to the left a tad more,
rather than dead central it would have more
impact. I feel the weight of dark area at the
top is a little too heavy, and because this
area is sharp, my eye keeps going up there,
instead of staying with the misty trees.
There are a couple of brown, dead branches
right near the middle that keep catching my
eye and spoiling the feel a little, as well.
The title is good, and I can almost hear the
birds starting to sing. Impact: 7 This pic is lovely and made me go
"Aahh" when I first saw it, but it
didn't hold me for too long. Commercial Viability: 6 Don't know much about
this aspect at all, but the emotional content
of the pic may make it suitable for stock
photography or advertising as it has largish
areas for text.
Technical: 7-you had a hard time exposing
this I guess. There is lots of dark areas and
light areas. I am not sure if this was done
in camera with a spot meter or if you did it
in PS. Composition: 6-It is a really busy image. The
path leads you up to the trees which have no
direction at all. I know that trees are
everywhere but it looks really busy Impact: 6-It looks like a dreamy nature shot
that you see in films. That is what I get
from it. Commercial Viability: 6-Stock maybe-i am not
sure what else it could be used for?
So thats what dawn looks like ! I'm going to
have to buy an alarm clock ! Great shot, tremendous ambience. I am delighted to be in the same pool as
you... "Live wide eyed in wonder and belief so
your whole body fills with light." Luke 11:34

I love the light in this one. A technical challenge well handled...but more than that, a beautiful image as well.

I love areas like this out in the woods. There's nothing as calming as the solitude of a scene like this. Nice work.
