Birds float by as I ignore the icy wind and gaze at our distant Sol setting above the Pacific Ocean in Northern California. Deep gratitude filled me as I reflected on how happy I am to be alive and able to actually be present to feel the vast magnitude of beauty before me. I love the ocean waters beyond words. Just think, Russia is straight ahead. Same air, same water, same clouds, same planet, same lives. If I can take a breath, take a drink, see a sunset, feel the wind on my cheeks, then I am blessed. As are we all.

I met fellow flickr-er Kevin Cross on this day. For this I am eternally grateful, as it reminds me of the importance of coincidence, plus he strikes me as a sterling being.

There are many more beautiful photographs from that day which I will look through soon. (This is best viewed as large as possible.)
