Trail testing the Travel Gifford

Trail testing the Travel Gifford

This was in Kirkland Watershed Park, which offers a nice mile or so of non-technical trails on my way home. This is about my favorite spot in the park, bumping down those roots and taking a slight left into what is normally a bit of a muddy downhill section.

Sorry about the crappy cellphone image, that's what I had. The bike is doing well, I just need to find some nice 26" tires (probably the Compass ones).

Simple but effective seatstay cluster. I'm not very good at curving lug like things, but tried to make the sleeve points look somewhat similar to the coupler points.

Lots of clearance under the fork crown too.

Thanks to Jeff Lyon for sending me the ultra long 1" steerer, these are hard to find. This one started as 380mm and is cut down to about 365mm. A 320 would have been too short.

This is a 1.9" (or around 50mm) Ritchey Speedmax tire. The bike will fit these with fenders, or the 2.3" tires from my mountain bike without fenders.

The hanger for the rear brake may get cut off, the bike is getting built up with V-brakes for easier packability.

Lower coupler, bike tires, triple crank, that describes pretty much the whole bike in one closeup photo.
