I Voted. (98/365)

I made my voice heard today. I got in line (yes, line) at 5:30 am... my polling place didn't open until 6:00 am and there had to have been somewhere between 250-300 people already in line when I got there. Once the doors opened, the line actually moved pretty quickly. Of course, I was in the dreaded A-whatever line, the longest of the three at my polling place, but it still wasn't bad. We had the option of voting on computer or by paper ballot and there were A LOT of stations to vote at... certainly far more than in 2004. I cast my paper ballot and was on my way by about 6:35. Not too shabby!

    ... now the waiting begins.

How did you guess? The sample ballot was just to throw everyone off... ;o)

Ugh. Sacrilege. It was actually painful to type that.

Your voice for a better world! (It was quite hard to sit here and have nothing to do but watch TV and hope that you all who had the future of everyone in their hands would do the right thing. You did, thanks for that :-)

Thanks, kg.owl! I'm glad that I was able to have the opportunity to make history with this election. I think the world will be a much better place because of the decision made by people who think like me. :o)

Back home in PA I could just walk in and vote... not here in Northern VA, that's for sure. An hour isn't bad at all... I waited almost 2 hours in 2004 to cast a vote that didn't make a difference and people were waiting up to four hours in my county this year to vote. I'm lucky I planned ahead and got in line before the precincts opened. :o)
