Machining stainless

    Newer Older

Had some time in Beaverton last week, so I hopped onto the company's lathe, fired it up and machined down some stainless steel screws into captive screws for my Benro tripod plate. The ones that came with the plate were too short to mount my home-brew 3D camera rig.

Stainless steel is a pain to machine and all we had were some hand ground HSS parting blades. (No carbide tools...) I'm pretty happy at how these turned out.
