Thanks guys. These flags were flying nicely
in the wind.
The Challenge - I'm born and raised in
Montreal but I'm English Canadian. I love it
here living in both cultures and a city
that's very multicultural.. similar to
Amsterdam in that respect... which is why I
probably feel so at home there too.
Thanks Erich. Me too. I love other parts of
Canada as well, we have a wonderfully diverse
country. BC & PEI are probably my
favorites places in Canada away from home.
Peter: Humm not sure, can't say I've ever
seen the Canadian flag there since the actual
Olympics although up near Sherbrooke Street
they sometimes put up flags of many nations.I
think I've seen the maple leaf there a few
times.
I really like the respect for Québécois from
Canadians. Some Canadians are sometime borned
(as some Québécois are sometime), but there
are also Canadians that respect this
beautiful French language province. I love
Quebec. Nice picture!
jimmy.lavoie - Thanks very much. I love
Quebec too after all it's my home. :-)... but
it's a great place to grow up. Canadians are
generally speaking very tolerant people and
there's great rivalry between all the
provinces but overall it's nice that we have
a mix of English-French & First Nations
people plus a global ethnic overlay ontop of
this three nation foundation. It gives us a
unique view of each other and it does garner
respect for one another I think as well.
@ Peter Ellis: Canadian flag is only flying
on federal institutions (airports, bank
[sometimes], Canada Post, military
institutions...). On provincial fields,
Quebec flag is flying. For example, there is
a law that requires every school in Quebec to
fly a Quebec flag on the school building and
on the school field. Well, maybe because I'm
Québécois, I prefer the Quebec flag, as we
are really proud to fly it as Canadians are
proud to fly the Canadian flag. ;) Have a
nice day!
