As we climbed Mam Tor we looked back towards Lord's Seat and knew we were in for some mean weather, so we took what we could before the snow storm arrived.. a fabulous day out, a bit of sunshine, snow storms and high winds, what more could a man ask for :-)

Mick and I went to the Peak District today, we did a lovely ridge walk but the weather and the scenery changed rapidly. Set off in sunshine with lush green valleys below us, then disappeared into a blizzard with no views at all, yet we carried on. As we reached Back Tor the weather cleared for a while, this shot was taken from Black Tor looking towards MamTor in the distance where we had set out from. The plan was to go to Lose Hill but the weather came back in again with avengence, so it was back to the car.. the snow had laid about an inch deep as we headed back, we had to drive down Winnat's Pass, a Tesco Van had broken down or crashed into the wall part of the way down making it hard for traffic that was already struggling in the snow. What made matters worse was that Snake Pass had been closed because of snow and all the traffic was going this way.. luckily we were going in the opposite direction to the traffic, we were going downhill so there was no need to try and get traction, just glide down.... slowly :-)

Couldn't take any photo's with my camera at this time because too much snow was landing on the camera lens.. it didn't stop me using my I-Phone though... if your wondering what's in his left hand, it's my glove that he held for me while I used the I-Phone :-)
